I love Psalm 121. It’s my favorite to sing (Book of Psalms for Singing), and it’s a beautiful lullaby for my little girl.
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
This Psalm is lovely. What wonderful assurance: we are looked after, safe, and certainly well preserved.
My name is Erin. I am married to my best friend — at this point, we’ve been together (either as friends, dating, engaged or married) longer than we’ve been apart — and we have two beautiful daughters.
I stay home with our children, enjoy cooking, sewing, and learning about pregnancy, childbirth, and VBAC (vaginal birth after a cesarean). In February of 2007, I co-founded a local chapter of the International Cesarean Awareness Network, and that takes up some of my free time.
Hi there,
I am really enjoying your blog. I loved your birth story and montage. I have http://spiritledbirth.blogspot.com and I plan on putting a link to them. I am wondering if you can elaborate on any spiritual thoughts you had that helped you to birth VBAC at home?
Also, I have 2 music blogs, http://homespunlullaby.blogspot.com

I love how you say that you sing this psalm as a lullaby to your kids. Would you be interested in recording yourself singing this psalm so I can post it on my blog? I have lullabies that I have written that you’d also be welcomed to sing.
I hope to hear from you!
